The openly anti-LGBTQ Andrzej Duda just won his 2nd term as Polish president. Hate and violence against LGBT+ communities in our direct neighbouring (beautiful!!!) country are escalating #morethanever. As we all might know, reproductive and sexual rights already are massively limited in Poland. In April, during Covid-19, the parliament even started discussing the abortion ban, criminalizing sexuality education and equiting homosexuality with paedophilia. Meanwhile around 100 Polish municipalities have declared themselves „LGBT-free zones,“ newspapers are used for propaganda, they show crossed-out Pride flags and fascist slogans, Pride March participants were attacked with stones and bottles by nationalists and far-right groups – and so on. Human rights abuses are happening, public. Polish LGBT+ people are strong and powerful and they fight back against the hate, but they need our help. Sign the petition (in stories) and call out @ursulavonderleyen to at last take action in her role as the most important representative in the EU @europeancommission. Also: Politics are the problem. This is not against polish people, it’s and act of solidarity with them. #loveislove
