„In a racist society, it is not enough to be non-racist, we must be anti-racist.“ – #AngelaDavis // Pls don’t be afraid to make mistakes these days. Just be open to learn and unlearn, listen, ask questions, know your privilege and educate yourself. Don’t feel not „woke“ enough to join a conversation, to stand up, to be an ally. Let others speak if it’s not about you. Make more mistakes, it’s ok, we’re all growing. I am thankful whenever someone calls me out on my bullshit and this happens a lot. Say „I hear you“. Notice when you’re diving in White Fragility. Google it, if you haven’t heard about it. Don’t feel ashamed, but change it – now. Don’t be passive, get active. Davis says: „Being antiracist results from a conscious decision to make frequent, consistent, equitable choices daily. These choices require ongoing self-awareness and self-reflection as we move through life. In the absence of making antiracist choices, we (un)consciously uphold aspects of white supremacy, white-dominant culture, and unequal institutions and society. Being racist or antiracist is not about who you are; it is about what you do.“
